The Seabird Festival is steeped in tradition celebrating 40 years in 2009! and supports the continued growth, diversity and resilience of First Nation culture. The Seabird Island Indian Band take great pride in planning their Annual First Nation Festival which includes over 9,000 visitors, entertainers, players, volunteers, and sponsors.
Over the past forty years, they have seen the event grow from a one-day event to two and a half days! The Festival attracts visitors from around the world and you are invited to become a part of the experience.
Our Festival features Opening Ceremonies, First Nations Traditional War Canoe Races, Traditional Salmon BBQ, Traditional Crafts, Traditional Drumming as well as Soccer Tournaments for children, youth, men and women and Ball Hockey Tournaments for men and women….and more!
Seabird Island is a First Nation community located five (5) kilometers east of Agassiz on the Lougheed Highway and approximately 130 kilometers east of Vancouver, British Columbia, in the fertile and scenic Fraser Valley.
